AI consultant on your site: enquiries or annoyance?
A chatbot can answer customers around the clock — or drive them away with canned phrases. What separates a working AI consultant from a useless one.
You have certainly seen those little windows in the corner of the screen. Half of them are irritating: they ask "How can I help you?" every ten seconds and answer a real question with "Please wait for an operator".
And yet a properly built consultant takes dozens of identical enquiries off your desk every day. The difference is not the technology — it is what the thing runs on.
Why old chatbots were annoying
A classic bot followed a script: button → answer → button. One step sideways and it was lost. People quickly realised they were talking to a machine and closed the window.
A modern AI consultant understands questions in ordinary language. But that ability alone guarantees nothing — what matters is where its answers come from.
The key difference: whose data it works on
Bad: the consultant answers "generally, from the internet". Then it can invent a price, promise something you do not offer, or give advice from someone else's practice. That is worse than silence — because the client will believe it.
Right: the consultant answers only from your data — your prices, terms, schedule, services. If it does not know, it says so honestly and offers to take a contact.
That is exactly how we build it: the AI works on the client's verified knowledge base instead of improvising. This is not a technical detail — it is the difference between a sales tool and a problem generator.
When it genuinely pays off
An AI consultant makes sense if you have:
- Many identical questions. "How much", "is there availability", "how fast can you do it", "do you offer instalments".
- Clients writing in the evening and at weekends, when you are no longer on the phone.
- A long decision cycle — people want to clarify details before leaving an enquiry.
- A range of products or services that is easy to get lost in.
In a driving school, for example, the consultant handles questions about categories, prices and instalments — around the clock, without an administrator. See how it was done.
When you do not need one
Honestly: not always worth it.
- If you have one service at one price, it is simpler to write that in large type.
- If five people a month visit your site, deal with traffic first, not with chat.
- If you already reply within a minute, a consultant adds nothing.
We say this to clients plainly, because selling something unnecessary costs you trust and repeat business.
What not to expect from it
- It will not sell for you. Its job is to remove the routine and carry a person to the enquiry, not to close the deal.
- It will not replace a human on complex questions. The correct scenario: does not know — hands over to a person.
- It will not fix a bad website. If prices are unclear and the form is broken, chat will not save it.
What it costs and what we need from you
An AI chat module for a website starts at €50. But the key part of the work is not technical, it is substantive: assembling the knowledge base — your services, prices, terms, common questions and the right answers to them.
In practice that is usually an hour of conversation with you plus a look through your client correspondence. The consultant then learns from that, not from guesswork.
Where to start
The simplest test: open your messenger and look at the last 30 client enquiries. If 20 of them are the same 5 questions, you have something worth automating.
Tell us about your business — we will see whether AI makes sense there, and say so honestly if it does not. What we do with AI and automation.
